Hamilton County, TN (Chattanooga): U.S. 27 Reconstruction (TDOT)

The Hamilton County project is owned by the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The project is 2.602 kilometers in length beginning north of the Olgiati Bridge and extending north on U.S. 27 to Signal Mtn. Blvd.  Major element s of construction include 460,365 m3 of excavation; 213,300m3 of borrow excavation (graded solid rock); 15 EA anchored soldier pile retaining walls with concrete facing totaling 18,150 m2; 15 EA MSE block retaining walls totaling 5,870m2; 2,915m of storm drainage installation ranging from 375mm to 1650mm in size; 7 EA overhead sign structures; ITS communication throughout the project; 5 EA concrete blub-tee beam bridges; 1EA curved steel girder bridge; and other miscellaneous associated work items.
